THE

IMPACT

Due to its unique position along regional canals and expansive size, the Grove Land Reservoir was identified as a priority project for restoring the health of our water and replenishing water supplies.

The Grove Land Reservoir can play an integral role in restoring regional water quality and addressing projected water shortages.

The Grove Land Reservoir and Storm Water Treatment Area will:

CAPTURE

Capture, store and treat water to achieve water quality standards and improve the overall health of the ecosystem.

REDUCE

Reduce high nutrient discharges into the St. Lucie Estuary and Indian River Lagoon.

DIRECT

Direct clean, fresh water to the St. Johns River to help meet minimum flows and levels.

PROVIDE

Strengthen supplies of future drinking water for Central Florida where there are projected shortages, reducing dependence on groundwater.

SUPPORT

Support the restoration of the springs by reducing use of the aquifer for drinking water.

According to the CFWI, the Grove Land Reservoir could provide 100 million gallons of water per day (GWD).
